Public-Private Partnership
Perhaps the single most important element of the Fast Start plan are the partnerships necessary to ensure successful implementation
of the new Tri-Rail Coastal Service. The Fast Start plan for Tri-Rail Coastal Service must be a true public
private-partnership between government and the Florida East Coast Railway.
Success requires close government coordination and cooperation at all levels of government icluding state, regional, county, and municipal.
Key partners must include: the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning
Organizations (MPOs); and the municipalities of all three counties.
SFRTA has initiated outreach to local municipalities, with further outreach efforts to come.
