We are a regional partnership dedicated to reintroducing passenger rail service to the historic downtowns of
South Florida along the Florida East Coast Rail Corridor.
The planned Tri-Rail Coastal Link service on the Florida East Coast (FEC) railway is a strategic investment for
Southeast Florida and has the ability to enhance the long-term competitive position of our region. The Coastal Link will
generate an extensive range of benefits that go beyond the direct impacts of any individual project, including spurring
economic development, creating jobs, improving regional access and mobility, and providing opportunities for transit-oriented
development. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
along with our partners at the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), the Southeast
Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC), and the South Florida and Treasure Coast Regional Planning Councils
are working diligently to make the Coastal Link service a reality in South Florida.
The Tri-Rail Coastal Link Station Area Opportunities publication is intended to summarize the station area visions created by many communities for their station areas, as well as provide information about the development potential for the area surrounding each station.

The Station Area Market and Economic Analysis report outlines the positive impacts that could be realized in terms of real estate development and resulting fiscal benefits. These benefits would potentially offset any financial contribution that municipalities would make to support service.

This report provides a summary of the planning analysis conducted to identify recommended initial station area locations on the FEC corridor. It also outlines a recommended phasing strategy for subsequent station development to assist project stakeholders with future planning efforts. The report recommendations will form the basis for the alternatives to be analyzed during the next phase (Project Development.)
