Economic Development and Transportation Choice through reintroduction of Passenger Rail Service in the FEC corridor between downtown
Miami and Jupiter and integration with Tri-Rail
Project Overview
SFRTA’s Fast Start plan is a carefully crafted balance of reasonable service levels with reasonable costs that can be implemented in a
3-5 year time frame. Additional service and stations can and will be pursued after the initial Fast Start plan is implemented.
SFRTA is able to apply its existing passenger rail expertise with an existing, highly efficient and “privatized” service delivery model.
The Tri-Rail Coastal Service will leverage the existing Federal, State and County investment in Tri-Rail and SFRTA.
Once implemented, the Tri-Rail Coastal Service will provide a one-seat ride from Palm Beach County to either the Miami Intermodal Center
(Airport) or Downtown Miami (see map opposite page). A regional service entirely along the FEC corridor will connect to Jupiter.
